Our Printer

We will offer a micro 3D printer, which is based on 2PP/MPP (link), that uses mode-locked diode lasers as an optical pulse source. This technology offers some key advantages compared to typically used lasers for MPP:

More Compact

The small dimensions of mode locked diode lasers allow for compact integration of single or multiple diode lasers in one machine

Cost effficient

Diode lasers are batch-fabricated on wafer scale with methods of micro system technology. This allows for cost scaling with increasing demand.

Flexible

Mode-locked diode lasers do not require fast external switches or shutters for synchronization. Direct modulation/ switching of the electrical pump current can be used for synchronization.

These key advantages enable us to realize a small, stable and cost efficient 2PP/MPP-platform. While we currently work on the transfer from the laboratory to a commercial product, our next development goals will include multi spot processing to increase throughput at tackle on of the main drawbacks of 2PP/MPP: long processing times.

If you want to evaluate if 2PP/MPP is the right tool for your task or you want to be part of our journey and test our prototype, don’t hesitate to contact us at info@PicoShape.com. We are always happy to discuss the possibilities of diode-laser based 2PP/MPP!
